The Real Talk Disclaimer: Info marketing takes work, just like any other business. I’m showing you exactly what worked for me… but I can’t guarantee it will work for you. Why? Because I don’t know your work ethic. However, most people who buy info marketing products do absolutely nothing with them. And if you do nothing, you get nothing. This is a business, not a lottery ticket. It takes real work.
What Is Info Marketing? (The 2026 Definition)
Before we talk about why the old model is broken, let’s define the game.
Traditionally, Info Marketing (or Information Marketing) is the business of packaging expertise into digital products (like ebooks, courses, coaching, consulting or seminars) and selling them to an audience looking for a solution.
But in 2026, the definition has shifted.
- Old Definition: Selling Information (How-to).
- New Definition: Selling Implementation (Results).
If you are trying to build an info marketing business on the Old Definition, you are in trouble.
Here is why.
The “Death” of the $47 Ebook
I used to think the dream was to create the perfect “passive income” product. You know the one… write a PDF, slap a price tag on it, and wake up to Stripe notifications while you sleep.
That isn’t a business. That is a fantasy.
Here is the honest truth…
My hard drive is a graveyard of $47 courses and ebooks I bought and never finished. I bet yours is too.
We are all suffering from “Infobesity.”
If you have been online for more than five minutes, you have heard the rumors: “Info Marketing is dead.”
And honestly? They are half-right.
The “Old School” way (selling cheap ebooks, generic “how-to” courses, and $19 videos) is absolutely dead. It has been “Netflixed.” You can find all that information for free on YouTube or ask an AI for the answer in three seconds.
But here is what is NOT dead:
People are starving for Implementation.
They don’t want more information… they are drowning in it. They want Speed and Results. They want a Container that forces them to execute.
This is your massive opportunity.
As a copywriter, you already have direct response copywriting skills that most info marketers would kill for. You know how to generate revenue.
The Info Marketing Blueprint (The Exact Map)
Before we dive into the philosophy, I want you to see the entire strategy at a glance.
This is the “High-Ticket Freedom” Blueprint. It’s the exact system I use to turn copywriting skills into scalable info marketing businesses.

Now, let’s break down exactly how to execute this.
What Dan Kennedy Taught Me About Info Marketing
I have a confession.
I am a Dan Kennedy disciple.
I have read every single book in the No B.S. library. I have studied his newsletters from the 90s. But the one that fundamentally rewired my brain was Magnetic Marketing.
Kennedy stands on the shoulders of the lineage of direct response… Hopkins, Caples, Schwartz, and the man who started it all, Edward Bernays.
Before I read that book, I was trying to convince people to hire me. I was chasing. I was begging.
Kennedy taught me the single most important rule of positioning: You must move from “The Hunter” to “The Hunted.”
But he taught me something else that hit me even harder. It was a concept about leverage.
Most copywriters are stuck in what I call the “Fulfillment Trap.”
- You write the ads.
- You build the funnel.
- You sweat over the subject lines.
You are the horse running the race. You are running as fast as you can, sweating, and hoping for a carrot (your fee).
But who makes the real money? The person betting on the horse? No.
“He who owns the racetrack makes the money.”
The track owner makes money on the tickets. They make money on the concessions. They make money regardless of which horse wins or loses.
The “Racetrack” is the List.
When you are just a copywriter for clients, you are the horse. If you break a leg (burn out), they shoot you and get a new horse.
But when you build an Info Business, you become the Racetrack Owner.
- You own the audience (The List).
- You own the attention (The Media).
- You set the entry fee (The Offer).
The real wealth isn’t in the service work. It is in the relationship with the list.
When you pivot to this model, you stop being a “vendor” who can be fired. You become the Authority who dictates the rules.
You move from “Done-For-You” (Low Leverage / High Sweat) to “Done-With-You” (High Leverage / High Equity).

The Philosophy: ARC Framework™
Most people want to skip this part.
They want the “funnel.” They want the “email templates.” They want the tactics.
But here is the truth…
Tactics break under pressure. Philosophies do not.
If you build a business based only on tactics, you will eventually build a cage. I know this because I built a very expensive one.
Years ago, I built a 7-figure ad agency. On paper, I was “living the dream.” I had the revenue. I had the clients. I had the status.
But in reality? I was miserable.
I spent 12 hours a day putting out client fires. I was constantly chasing the next deal. I had built a machine that required 100% of my energy just to keep the lights on.
I realized that just because a business makes money… doesn’t mean it is fun to run.
I became obsessed with a new problem:
How do I hit my revenue goals without selling my soul, my time, and my energy?
I wanted a business that supported my life… not a life that supported my business.
And I got it.
Last summer, I didn’t spend my days glued to Slack or putting out client fires. Instead, I packed my family into an RV and we spent the entire summer traveling across Canada.
We explored. We disconnected. We lived.
And while I was driving down the highway, this info marketing business was covering the cost.
No urgent Zoom calls. No trading hours for dollars. Just revenue and freedom.
I stopped acting like a frantic agency owner and started thinking like an Asset Owner.
I tested this new philosophy with my friend and mentor, Scott Oldford. We didn’t just sell “services.” We built Info Businesses. We built assets.
The result?
We built two newsletter businesses that were acquired by Semrush (yes, the publicly traded giant).
We didn’t sell them our time. We sold them the Asset.
That experience taught me that you need a belief system to navigate this journey. I call mine ARC.
Alignment: Doing the next right thing for you. Not what the “gurus” say you should do… but what feels true to your specific energy. If it feels heavy, put it down.
Rhythm: The way you show up consistently. Most copywriters work in bursts of panic followed by burnout. We replace that with a sustainable rhythm that protects your peace.
Container: The offer that catches the sales energy and turns it into wealth. You cannot catch rain with a sieve. You need a High-Ticket Container to capture the value you create.

“So… What Do I Actually Sell?” (The 3 Containers)
This is where most copywriters freeze. They think, “If I’m not writing copy for them, what am I selling?”
You are selling the Result wrapped in a new Container.
Your job here is to build an irresistible offer that captures that result and packages it into something a buyer can’t say no to.
We don’t need to overcomplicate this. The Lead Magnet gets them excited to buy, the Trial Offer gives them a quick result, and the High-Ticket Offer helps them scale that result over time.
Here are the 4 Containers you need to build:
1. The Lead Magnet (The Identity Shift)
The goal here isn’t just to give away free info; it’s to shift their belief system so they actually believe they can get the result you promised.
Here is an example of mine:

Want a free copy without opting in? Get it here
- Price: Free (Requires Attention & Email)
- What it is: A specific asset that solves the internal block preventing them from success. This could be a Book (like Sales Energy), a Manifesto, or a Tool.
- The Shift: You stop trying to “convince” them. Instead, you redefine their problem and prove you have the unique mechanism to solve it.
- The Win: It builds deep trust and filters out the tire kickers before you ever get on a call.
2. The Trial Offer (The Group Accelerator)
You need to prove your philosophy works quickly. This is a short-term commitment that builds massive trust without asking them to “marry” you on the first date.
Here is an example of mine:

Stop using your superpowers to make your clients rich and join the Accelerator to start building your own $30k/month asset.
[Apply for the Sales Energy Accelerator]
- Price: $3,000 – $5,000
- What it is: A 6-8 week “bootcamp” where you teach a small group your specific mechanism.
- The Shift: You aren’t doing the work for them. You are auditing their work and giving them the strategy.
- The Win: They get a rapid result, and you get paid to filter for your best long-term clients.
3. The Mastermind (The Scale)
Once they trust the mechanism, they need time and environment to scale it. This is where you stop fixing small problems and start building their dream.
- Price: $15,000 – $25,000 / Year
- What it is: A year-long container for people who want access to YOU, your network, and other high-level players.
- The Shift: They stop paying for information and start paying for proximity and accountability.
- The Win: This is recurring revenue. You build a floor of income that grows every single month.
4. The 1-on-1 Mentorship (The Inner Circle)
Some buyers have more money than time. They don’t want a group; they want direct access to the source to collapse time immediately.
- Price: $50,000+ / Year
- What it is: Complete access to you. You look under the hood of their business and guide every major move.
- The Shift: This is for the top 1% of your audience who want to move at light speed.
- The Win: High margin, high impact, and you only need a handful of these clients to build a massive business.
Pause: Do You Know Who You Are Selling To?
Most people fail because they are trying to sell a $5k offer to a broke person. You need to find your ‘Perfect Buyer.'”
“If you skip the work of finding the right client avatar, every other piece of this blueprint falls apart. Get this right first.”

Traffic: The “Dream 100” Strategy (The Almost Famous Method)
You don’t need to run ads on Day 1. In fact, you shouldn’t.
We use the “Trojan Horse” Method to get in the room with the biggest players in your market.
Have you ever seen Almost Famous?
It’s a great movie!
And I highly recommend it because it has the golden rule of business baked right into it.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR THEM?
There is a high school kid named William Miller. He has no money. He has no status. He has no clout.
But he ends up touring with the band, flying on the private jet, and getting backstage access that millionaires couldn’t buy.
How?
He wasn’t a fan. He wasn’t a groupie. He was a reporter for Rolling Stone.
He had a “reason” to be there. He was documenting their genius.
You are William Miller.
Your book (or your podcast) is your backstage pass. It gives you a reason to reach out to the titans of your industry without looking like a beggar.
The Process:
- Identify: Find the Dream 100 people who already have your customers (podcast hosts, agency owners, influencers).
- Interview: Interview them for your own content. Feature them. Make them look like the hero.
- The Pivot: After the interview, ask them: “Tell me more about how you are solving [X] problem right now?”
The “Giver vs. Taker” Reality Check
Put yourself in their shoes for a second.
Imagine you open your LinkedIn DMs tomorrow morning. Which one of these messages are you going to reply to?
- Option A: “Hey, I see you run a business. I have a service that can help you. Can we hop on a call so I can pitch you?” (The Taker)
- Option B: “Hey, I’ve been following your work and I love your perspective on [X]. I’m writing a book about the future of our industry and I’d love to interview you and feature your story. No pitch. just exposure for you.” (The Giver)
It is a complete no-brainer.
Everyone wants more publicity. Everyone wants to be seen as an expert.
When you reach out to give value rather than take time, the doors swing wide open.
You are borrowing their authority to build your own. You get elite content for your “Info Product” (your book), and you get to audition them as potential partners or clients.

The Profit Ladder (The Math)
This isn’t magic. It’s just math. We use the Front End to cover lifestyle and ads, and the Back End to build stacking wealth.
Important: The goal is not to sell in the interview, it’s to create a win-win situation for you and the person you are interviewing!
- Traffic: 30 Leads / week (Interviews/Conversations)
- Conversion: 10% Deal rate
- Front End: 3 Trial Deals x $3,000 = $9,000 / week ($36,000 / mo)
- Back End: 1 High-Ticket Deal (Upsell) = Stacking Recurring Revenue
You are now building a floor of recurring revenue that grows every single month.
The Execution Timeline (6 Weeks to Launch)
We don’t live in a simulation where everything goes according to the script.
Real life is messy.
You will have bad days.
Tech will break.
Distractions will try to derail you.
As Myron Golden says, “Where intention goes, chaos will follow.”
That is just the price of admission for building something great.
But you cannot let the chaos become your excuse. You need a rigid container to hold your focus when things get wild.
If you commit to the process, ignore the noise, and refuse to drift, here is the exact schedule to go from zero to asset in 6 weeks:
- Week 1: The Foundation. Define the Villain (The old way). Name your Process (Your “Mechanism”).
- Week 2: The Setup. Write the “Manifesto” (A 4-page Google Doc explaining your philosophy). Build your Dream 100 list.
- Week 3: The Audition. Start the Dream 100 interviews. These aren’t just chats… we are testing the Philosophy on real prospects.
- Week 4: The Pivot. Move from “Thanks for the interview” to “Tell me more about your problems.” Book sales calls.
- Week 5: The Cash. Close the first $3k – $5k deals. Prove the concept works.
- Week 6: The Asset. Feed the interview transcripts into AI. Write the book in 4 hours.
You build the plane while you fly it.

Info Marketing FAQ
1. Is Info Marketing really dead?
The “Old Model” of selling generic information (ebooks, courses) is dead because information is now free. The “New Model” of Implementation Marketing (selling results, coaching, and speed) is growing faster than ever.
2. How is this different from freelancing?
Freelancing is selling your hands (Time). Info Marketing is selling your brain (Intellectual Property). When you sell your brain, you can sell the same asset 1,000 times. When you sell your hands, you hit a ceiling.
3. What if I’m not an “Expert” yet?
You don’t need to be the world’s #1 expert. You just need to be one chapter ahead of your client. If you have solved a problem for yourself, you have a product.
4. Do I need a massive email list to start?
No. You need the right list. I would rather have 100 people who trust me and have the money to invest than 10,000 freebie-seekers who complain about a $27 ebook. The “Dream 100” strategy builds a small, potent audience of buyers, not browsers.
5. I’m not a “Writer”… how can I write a book?
You don’t need to be Hemingway. You need to be effective. The method I teach uses the “Talk-to-Text” strategy. You interview experts (or record yourself teaching), get the transcripts, and use AI to structure it. You are the Architect; let AI be the Bricklayer.
6. Why would someone pay me $3k when they can get this info on YouTube?
Because free information is disorganized and overwhelming. People don’t pay for information… they pay for Clarity and Speed. They are paying you to curate the path and keep them accountable. They are buying the Container, not the content.
7. Do I need to quit my client work immediately?
Absolutely not. That is financial suicide. Use your client work to fund your Info Business. Treat your agency as the “Investor” for your new asset. Transition slowly. Once your Info Business covers your baseline lifestyle costs… then you cut the cord.
8. Isn’t the “Make Money Online” market saturated?
It is saturated with noise. It is saturated with generic advice. But it is starving for Alignment. No one has your specific frequency, your specific stories, or your specific mechanism. If you try to be a “Guru,” you will drown. If you show up as You, there is no competition.
9. Do I need complex funnels and tech?
Complexity is the enemy of execution. I built my first major wins with a Google Doc and a Stripe link. You don’t need a $297/month software stack. You need a simple way to capture attention (Book) and a simple way to collect money (Checkout Page). Earn first, upgrade later.
10. What if I launch and nobody buys?
Then you have data. A “failed” launch isn’t a funeral; it’s feedback. It means either the Offer wasn’t clear, or the Audience wasn’t right. You tweak the dials and go again. This is a science lab, not a casino.
11. Why do you focus so much on “Energy” and “Alignment” (ARC)?
Because I have made a lot of money while being miserable, and it wasn’t worth it. If you build a business that fights your natural rhythm, you will burn it down. Strategy without Alignment is just a faster way to burnout.
12. Should I run Facebook Ads right away?
No. Ads are fuel. Your offer is the fire. If you pour fuel on a pile of wet logs, you just get a mess. You must validate your offer organically first. Once you are making sales and have cash flow… then you use ads to scale what is already working. When you do get to ads, the Facebook ads strategy for info marketers is different than what e-com gurus teach. Pour the fuel on the right fire.
13. I hate sales calls. Can I sell this via email only?
Eventually, yes. But in the beginning? No. You need to hear the objections. You need to hear the tone of voice. Sales calls are not just about money; they are about Market Research. Every call makes your copy sharper.
14. How much time does this take per week?
If you use the “Dream 100” interview strategy, you can build this on 5-10 hours a week. It isn’t about “grinding.” It’s about high-leverage activities. One interview can become a podcast, a newsletter, a chapter in your book, and 5 social posts.
15. What is the difference between a “Coach” and a “Consultant”?
A Consultant does the work for you. A Coach helps you become the person who can do the work. In this model, we are a hybrid. We provide the Strategy (Consulting) and the Container (Coaching). We are selling “Done-With-You.”
16. Do I need to be on every social media platform?
Please don’t. That is a recipe for madness. Pick ONE platform where your “Perfect Buyer” hangs out (usually LinkedIn or X/Twitter for B2B) and master it. Deep relationships on one platform beat shallow noise on five.
17. What if my “Perfect Buyer” can’t afford $3k?
Then you have the wrong Perfect Buyer. This sounds harsh, but you cannot build a business saving people who are drowning. You are looking for people who are already swimming but want to swim faster. You are selling to ambition, not desperation.
18. Why do you call it a “Container”?
Because energy needs a place to land. If you have great marketing (Sales Energy) but no clear place to put that interest, it dissipates. The Container (the Offer) captures the energy and converts it into a result for them and revenue for you.
